Pippa Rans plays regularly with the major orchestras in the UK and abroad, including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Concert Orchestra,  Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. Pippa graduated with Distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma in Performance from Trinity College of Music in 2005, where she was a scholar studying with Lowri Blake and Joely Koos. She was principal cellist of the Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and won many prizes including the Classical Concerto and the Solo Bach Competition as well as gaining a place on the BBC Concert Orchestra's mentor scheme.

Pippa is passionate about chamber music and performs regular recitals with the Kingswood Piano Trio and with Duo Cello for various music clubs and festivals.

Pippa is also committed to providing outstanding music for functions.

As a member of Duo Cello she has played for the Duke of Edinburgh, Sir Nicholas Serota and Sir David Attenborough at prestigious venues such as Channel 4, The Gherkin, City Hall, The Royal Academy of Arts, Hampton Court Palace and the Reform Club.

As a member of the Sonas Quartet, she plays for weddings all over the country and has travelled the world, giving recitals aboard Saga Cruise Ships.

Pippa lived in Belgium for most of her childhood and this is where she started playing the cello at the age of nine, having been taken to a concert and deciding that the biggest instrument (that she could still carry) had to be the best!

Pippa moved to Dorset aged sixteen and subsequently gained her undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham, where she studied with Andrew Fuller and performed the Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto with the University Sinfonia as winner of the annual concerto competition.
